Herbs are the basic ingredients of almost every beauty product nowsdays, that you can’t turn a blind eye towards it. There is a French legend on herbal baths which tells the tale of a French girl who used herbal bath concoctions to keep her skin young and beautiful.

It is believed that Ninon De Lenclos, the girl, was wooed by young men even at the age of 70. Among her many beauty secrets, herbal baths also find a place. You can follow her foot steps by giving yourself an herbal bath treat without going to a spa.

Given here are some herbal bath blends that can be made at home without leaving that damaging hole in your pocket.

Herbal Bath Recipes

Herbal Bath Blend For Dry Or Chapped Skin
Ingredients: 


Dried rose petals- 1 cup
Dried lavender flowers- ½ cup
Cheesecloth- 12” x 24”
How To Make
Take the cheesecloth; fold it in half making a 12” square piece.
Place the blend inside the cloth.
Tie the ends together.
Place it in a saucepan (not aluminum or copper one) and add 1&1/2 quarts of boiling water. Cover the saucepan and keep it for at least an hour.
When ready add the sachet along with the infusion liquid into the warm running bath water.
Take a nice soak, squeezing the sachet from time to time.
Herbal Bath For Muscle Aches & Stiff Joints

Ingredients:
Dried lemon balm leaves- ½ cup
Dried rosemary leaves- ½ cup
Dried chamomile flowers- ¼ cup
Cheesecloth- 12”x 24”

How To Make

Take the cloth; fold it into half forming a 12”square piece.
Put the entire blend in the middle and tie it around.
Put the sachet in a saucepan and add 1& ½ quarts of boiling water and steep for at least an hour.
Add the infusion liquid to your warm running bath water along with the sachet.
Take your warm herbal bath squeezing the sachet at times.

Herbal Bath For Colds And Congestion

Ingredients:
Dried thyme leaves- ½ cup
Dried sage leaves-1 cup
Dried rosemary leaves- ¼ cup
Cheesecloth- 12” x 24”

How To Make

Take the cheesecloth and fold it into half, making it a 12”square piece.
Put the blend in the centre of the cloth and tie the ends together.
Place the sachet in a saucepan and add 1&1/2 quarts of boiling water.
Cover the saucepan and keep it for an hour.
Once ready you can put the sachet along with the infusion liquid to your warm running water
You can have a nice soak in the water, squeezing the sachet at times.
